Roseate Spoonbill (Platalea ajaja)
What’s larger than a White Ibis, and smaller than a Great Blue Heron? Community minded, half hot pink, Roseate spoonbills who hang out together in the coastal southern United States all the way down to south eastern South America, using their built in eating utensils to slurp up little fish and crabs. Watch this depressing video about the destruction of their habit in Florida Bay thanks to the draining of the Everglades and earlier folk killing them for their pretty feathers:
Soft and lightweight, pre-shrunk, 100% combed cotton.
